Just a little background on my situation:
So my cousin and I are going to run teams. I have some experience since graduating training school running local, but my cousin was unsuccessful getting work after graduation mainly because he was not yet 21. Well he finally turned 21 and convinced me to go team with him for at least 6 months, just to try it out. We gathered a list of companies that we had interest in, such as Roehl and CRST. Most said they were not hiring in our area (Omaha NE). We talked to TransAm (I trained there before taking a local job) and they had no problem with me coming back but wanted my cousin to take a 40 hour refresher course at a training school before they could take him. He just graduated in October. We contacted the school we attended and the school wanted almost a grand for the refresher...needless to say TransAm was out. As a joke I kept telling him that we're going to be stuck going to the local company...Werner. So after much frustration we decided to give them a call. To shorten this up, we go for orientation on Monday in Omaha.
All that to say we going to Werner and the feelings are mixed, but we'll just have to see if the horror stories are true for myself.
To my point:
Werner's paperwork shows 6 different models of trucks. My question to you is which truck do you feel is the best suited for a team environment.
The 6 are:
KW W900
KW T600
Pete 379
Pete 387
FL Classic XL
FL Century (they even still making these? Columbia's same thing)
They say I may have a choice in which truck, but we'll see what choices are available.
Werner trucks
I know this is a link for the fleet sales, I assume these go through company drivers first.
I, myself like the either of the KW's or the Pete 387.
What do you think?
