Default I want to learn CB!

I hear you guys out there, but mostly I don't understand!
I have recently started moving stuff around the western part of this nation, mainly Washington, and Oregon.
I listen to the CB and most of the time I get confused.
What channels are you guys on, sometimes 19, sometimes 17, then when I scan I hear everybody on an different band.
Some guy told me that I should monitor 19; going North to South, and 17 going west to east, is that right?
Is that right?

I5 in OR and WA runs on 17. Most, if not all, of the rest of the roads are on 19.

You will find that many fleets and specific terminals will run on a different channel. This way they keep the chatter off of 19.

Reading these might help. Time will probably take care of most of your questions. I don't mean to sound like a smarta$$ but it really will. As PC said different companies drivers go off on other channels but it doesn't help much with the clutter on 19. That's why most of the time it's called "Sesame Street".

NO I believe this means there is a trooper taking radar or some truckers say taking your picture.
