Default I could use some advice please! THANKS!

I got my cdl class A in September 2006. Before I got my cdls, I had received a speeding ticket 63/35. The date for that was may of 2006. It was my first in many years. I went on to get my cdls and start my driving career. Within 2 months of being a driver, my wife cheated on me and abandoned our house, took the kids and all the good stuff. An argument on christmas eve and the police were called. I've never been in trouble before, but I was arrested and pled guilty to misdemeanor simple assault and battery. The conviction was in April of 2007. In May I was traveling thru the great state of OHIO and received a ticket for 61/45. This resulted in a 60 day cdl suspension. I was told by WERNER that they would put me on leave and take me back after the suspension was lifted. Needless to say they didn't. I'm finding it hard to get a job and I have two daughters to support. My wife is now an ex and I have the kids. My aunt and uncle are helping me raise them. I only want to get back into driving and move my life in a more positive direction. My body is not in shape for factory or millwork. I live in GEORGIA. I drove 48 state and near my suspension I became a southeast regional driver, but I really ran coast to coast still. My MAIN question is, could someone please guide me on how to get in the good graces of the trucking industry, before I loose everything we have. This is not meant to be a sob story or a pity party, I find it to be a reality of life. I know things happen and truckers have a hardknock life at times. Thank you for any assistance and I'm sorry if this post is in the wrong place. Thanks again!

My suggestion would be to look locally.

Gravel, trash, and the like would likely be the best way to look.

Keep your license clean for a couple of years, and you should be in a better position to get back on the highway if you still wish to do so.

is moving an option ? the job market in Ga is a joke and that is the main reason i moved from there. i have friends getting laid off each month, and one is still looking for employment. with the past driving record you have you might wabt to look into doing something else for awhile til time can pass and your cdl will be cleaner. seems you have a bit of a lead foot and companies frown on that. good luck.

Default thank you for your advice

Thank you for your advice. Of course with every ticket there is a reason for the situation. I don't really have a leadfoot, just aa case of bad timing. I was hired on at a company that does cement work and they pay decent money. So, thanks again for your advice. Born!

i live in england, an if you were here what ever happened would NOT affect you driving licence, i realise what i'm sayin maybe irrelivant but in the event of a court issue,,what the hell has what ever you did got to do with your job and driving,?? to me it seems a way to subdue without due cause,,they cant put you in prison for stealing a sweet but they can take yer job,,pride and good judgment,,you have to way it up..judge your self before they judge you n be ready with your replies,,gl trucker,,rubber side down,
