Truckers who cross the California state line after Jan. 1, 2008, have a new reason to dread doing so: On New Year’s Day the state begins enforcing a new anti-idling measure that doesn’t exempt sleeper time.

because of this cali. just might be biting the hand that feeds it. companies are gonna have to pay more for drivers to go there just like new york city but it might just be worse. i am really interested to see how this works out.

Idling laws are in effect everywhere. Its just a matter of weither they are enforced or not.Like I told a cop in Mass one night.I have to live in this truck.Am I supposed to freeze? Do the people in Houses turn off their heat and air so as not to offend anyone ? I don't think so. He said unless he was called again he wouldn't be back he had other important stuff to worry about. He was nice about it.

Trouble in the New England area the truck stops are far and few inbetween.I found that if ya found a Wal-Mart you could park out back or on the outter limits of the lot and they wouldn't bother ya.I used to deliver to Home depots and the way our schedules were we usually ran out of time at our last stop and we would have to park in their lot and most of them would call the police on ya.It got to the point we would refuse to hit our last stop with less than an hours driving time because we needed a place to park. The company soon got a hold of HD and they quit calling the cops in most places.I personally tried to locate a mall close by so I could park out back like I was waiting to deliver or something and I was never bothered as long as I stayed out of the way.
