come on over here to iraq and drive. you can make around $120,000 in a year easy with $87,500 being tax free. you can either run on convoys or stay in the camp and drive, of course convoys pay more. you can go to www.kbrjobs.com and find the job for you and apply. it explains what each job duties are. the jobs range from food service, construction, truck drivers, etc. there is about 3500 jobs here that needs to be filled. all your food, housing and laundry is taken care of here. no need to worry about any of that. and the food here is great. steaks, shrimp, lobster, crab legs. everything you could want even baskin robbins ice cream. i am a convoy fuel truck driver here. been here for 18 months now. good luck.

Sounds great for someone with 2 years of experience.... thats what the website says... even Iraq requires 2 years. You would think a newbie could start their.... less 4 wheelers to watch out for. Then again the insurance companies here would let you count that as OTR experience.

The whole insurance deal is hard to make sense to me. But thanks for the tip.

Thanks for responding... I will drive dumps or even a
straight truck if I have too. You would think 15 years
of driving a straight truck (I know they are very
different) but... 15 years no tickets, no accidents
would help me some how....

Feel free to pass my name and email around if you know
of any michigan companies... Ohio is okay too I am
only 50 miles from the state line.

Yes its very bad... so far I lost my job of 15 years, retrained 3 times, retrained again into CDL A truck driving, had to quit TMC to deal with family teenager issues, I lost my home due to unemployment, hoping now someone will rent us a apartment. Michigan has been going down the drain for 17 years I didn't leave cause I wanted my kids to be near their family, now I am paying for that.

I have over 60 applications out in three different fields! I have only a few hopefuls but nothing guarenteed... maybe they are blowing smoke up my ying yang.... January 4 I will see if Deboer will take me if nothing happens between now and then.

Signed... Lost my way in Michigan!

sorry about your situation. keep your head up as things will take a turn for the better. how long have you had your cdl ? and how much experience do you have with it ? have you checked into the dept. of labor to see if anything is there ?

I have only a few months driving semi, but 15 years in a 26' straight truck... which doesn't help me much. I really want to drive the big trucks thats where the money is. I signed up with Michigan State employment.... I do now have a job driving a small straight truck delievering fish, 10.00 an hour. 4-6 hours pulling orders from the freezers, load 5 trucks then drive 3-4 hours. I'm not complaining but FLATBEDDING is easier LOL! I want to keep this thread alive until I get a better job.
