The whole thing fell apart on me! I talked with one of owner operator of the Towne Air Freight trucks he had no problem with my experience.... so off I went to South Bend. Now after I arrived... mmm.... road tester said, on the other side of this building there is a unmarked truck that we are getting rid of cause its a piece of shit.... I said OH BOY! Walked over and got it.... the shifter was so worn out when it was in gear the stick would wobble 4 to 6 inches left to right. The shift knob was also loose and ducted taped to the stick so that wobbled as well hard to find neutral!!! I hooked up a trailer got 100 on that, then the road tester climbed on board and said lets go.... then he asked me about my TMC job and told him the truth 60 days and 15 years of straight trucking... told me we cannot go on the road unless you have one year verifyable driving tractor trailer so park it NOW!

I was honest and upfront with my experience from day 1 so was the owner operator no body was hiding anything. Really pissed me off take 2 days off drive 300 miles each way to be let down like that!

I am thankful I didn't have to drive that truck on the highway!

things happen for a reason. for some reason you weren't meant for that job cause there is something better planned for you. good luck and keep your head up and follow your heart. it will never lie to you.

Sorry for the delay.... been on the road for three weeks. Started in Midland Mich. then Philly ( that was fun ) then to Birmingham AL, Covenington KY (low bridge town 12') suppose to go home after that but they gave me a 2,000.00 round trip load to Seattle WA. I really need the cash so wife and I said do it! Now I have a tree day layover at the Double Tree Hotel.

My first dispatcher didn't tell me what these 6 loads paid just the Seattle one. So hopefully be worth it. I have a new gal now see if I can get more details.

My first load I was WARNED because I was late... from Midland Mich. to Philly in 11 hours?? Can't take the toll ways either company doesn't pay for the OH, PA tollways so it took me 14 hours. Had to sleep 10 in their to be legal. Other truckers said 14 is what it takes without the toll road. I -paid one toll into Philly.

Going west I had two level three inspections and no violations. Snow, ice, windy in the mountains first time through the Rockies on I-90 not to bad really. I missed two major snowfalls by 24 hours! 14 inches in Washington Mountains.

Is this where I want to be?? Well if it really pays I will continue, only one problem with the late load the other 6 were fine. I will try this for awhile. They have 135 or so tractor trailers so maybe if I perform they will give me a chance???

The truck? 2003 International with a coffin sleeper dirty as hell took me a few days and box of baby wipes. Air ride suspension rides good but it has a small engine. Very small sleeper to spend a month in.

glad to see your doing good and it sounds like overall you are doing just fine. being late for a delivery ? don't worry about it. it happens. you'll learn that dispatchers just like to moan and groan and they will find anything to groan about. and so far that is all they had for you. brush it off and drive on. i once had a dispatcher tell me i was in violation of over speed. i jumped back with ...WTF ? my truck only does 61 and the speed limit is 65, so how can i be going to fast ? his answer was a bunch of jiberish and made no sense. overall he was all right. sorry i got side tracked. so make sure you have a good dispatcher and i don't care what anybody says that dispatcher works for you and if you feel it isn't working out between you and them then request a new dispatcher. i've done it and with no consequences.

Hello... Been a while since I last wrote. Been starving on the highway. I was driving OTR Straight truck and making 200.00 a week... ouch! The company put me in training for 18 wheel flatbed and this weds the 10th I get my own truck... back behind the wheel again, now I will hopefully make it one year and get my career moving forward.

Company pulled the straight trucks off the road and trained us for two weeks on Flatbed 18 wheeler. I passed and now I have my own Tractor Trailer!!! I did 6 loads in 12 days. .36 cents per mile loaded and .32 cents per mile dead heading. 25.00 for tarping. Tarping isn't that hard just time consuming as all hell. I am not complaining I have my start thats all that matters. I am home now for a few days. Going to try and get two more days.

30 days of flat bedding I made less than 1,000.00 for the whole month!!! I given up, I will go back to either Bus or Straight truck local in New Jersey. Stay away from [br]Rumble Trucking out of Deckerville Mich. Loads are to short, not enough miles dispatch says thats all we can get you. Takes about three weeks to get paid on a load.
