Default Schedule change

If you're running a schedule or something close to a schedule and you see a change coming down the road inform your family. It might make the adjustment a little easier. If you think your hours affect you alone you may be in for a surprise.Driving is a teamwork thing with the family and if you think it's not as you get older you may find out that truck and that job is all you have.

You are so right JB I went on night line when married to my first wife, she was all for it, I talked to her, believe it or not, for a year and a half b-4 I did it, 4 months later we were divorced, she couldn't handle my hours, there were other things involved but I believe this to be the driving force that brought the marriage to an end, I thought I properly prepared her, I guess I didn't. Prior Proper Planning Prevents Pisspoor Performance..Jim Bob I know you as a former Marine can identify with these very true words.

Very good advice Jim Bob!

Drivers, remember just because it's YOUR dream to hit the highway as a trucker,it doesn't mean your wife/signifcant other has the same dream! When your researching about becoming a trucker, please have your wife/S.O. help you so she can know whats going on too.

My orientation with Dot Foods included a day when spouses were invited as well as the drivers. The spouses were then given a one-day orientation of their own where they could learn what to expect with their spouse driving for them.

This simple little gesture did more to help my wife than all the explanations I ever could have given her. I guess it's easier for her to take when the company tells her I won't always be home when she thinks I will.
