Default How Moderators are chosen

I have been doing this a long time now, Our parent site Truckingboards
now gets over 1 million page views per month and has almost 9000 members and growing strong everyday.

How I choose Moderators.

I import some from Truckingboards, because they know the system and how I run it.

We look for even keeled people, those who react in a professional manner and treat people with respect, do not ask me to make you a mod, when we notice you we will ask you if you want to be a part of the team.

How do we notice you?

I look for people that help people, people who are active as possible without sacrificing family time, all I ever ask from my mods is that when you get on the internet, check your forum, it does not matter if you have a tight schedule or are away a couple weeks at a time, Family and job comes first before this forum.

I prefer mods that blend into the community and acts like a regular poster and does not have to be treated like they are better than others.

Mods are added as we grow. and as are needed

Users are wanted and needed to make a succesful forum, the absolute last option is banning a user, I hate to do that more than anything but sometimes we are forced to, all mods work together and unless it's a attack on the forums we discuss all matters in a secret place called the mods forum.

Thanks for being here

We are definitely looking for OTR drivers that can give honest and fair advice to newbies for some forums.
Treat the newbies like you wanted to be treated when you were out there learning and asking questions.

Take a look at the different forums we offer here and if you can help in a particular area of trucking, please share your knowledge.

I know from experience that moderating is an extremely tough job. I am an admin on another forum, and I find that I spend more time dealing with the forum background than with the forum itself.

Three Cheers for the Moderators here!!

I was there. But not in that picture.

I gave the seminar just before that one.

Dig deeper, and you will get to the forum from the front page.

Next summer, we will be gathering near San Fransisco for some good times and wines.

You can see my pic by looking into the winefest 2007 pics, WinePress.US* The Internet's Largest Home Wine Making & Grape Growing Discussion Forum and finding 050

Jeff you pick mods like I pick recruiters that visit the school. They are invited in and will be invited out if I catch them lying to my students.
I have only had to through out 3 companies in 5.5 years. I hate it!
But they are warned before they come in. I tell them straight up,
"Boys this ain't no damn ball game! No three strikes your out!"
I am a bit over protective of my students. That being said students are number one to me. My job is to see they get the best, safest training possible and that no one coming into the school takes advantage of them.
Truck driving is a whole lot more then a new job, it is a whole life style change.
The one thing I hate the most is a recruiting companies that presents themselves as a school in internet ads and then recruiter for the largest CDL Mills in the country. I've seen the damage they do and it is sickening.
