Years ago I went to TRAINCO truck driving school in Monroe, Michigan. Now it's in Taylor on Eureka Rd. near Art Van furniture. As a trainer myself for a major US trucking company, I found that many students didn't know the basics about trucking and spent only a few hours behind the wheel because the school focused more on making money than training drivers. My experience at trainco years ago was very good. Focused more on teaching students to drive as well as know the laws to pass the cdl test. When you check out a school-find out how much time behind the wheel time you will receive. The basics like backing , turning and passing should be understood before you get in a truck and have to face the daily problems that every driver has to deal with. Once you are on your own, you will have to be able to perform driving tasks for 11 hours a day or more and the school that you attend should help you prepare for that as well as the paperwork. TRAINCO spent time with us on backing and driving as much as on paperwork and I believe it helped me to be a good professional driver. Small classes and driving time should be an important part of your choice in picking a school. Good Luck! -Lisa
