Don't feel bad about being an independant. That just means you have not bought into either political parties agenda.
I think Ron Paul actually does have some good ideas too but as you said he does not stand a chance now that McCain has sewn up the Republican nomination.
It will be interesting to see who each candidate selects for the VP slot. I certainly hope Obama does not include Hillary on his ticket. I never could stomach that lady and if he selected her as a running mate I would have to seriously reconsider voting Democrat this year.
