Yes a cb can be very helpful and informative. Regrettably I gave up using mine due to the garbage. I now listen to satellite radio and only turn my cb on in bad weather or if there is a traffic jamb. I listen to find out what is going on and then turn it back off. I rarely even talk on mine anymore.

It is too bad others have ruined it. I know I used to enjoy having pleasant conversation with other drivers especially late at night to try and stay awake. Hearing a lady talk on the cb would be an unusual treat and could keep me awake all night if we were going the same way.

Now a days I have pleasant conversations with others online. More polite and respectful over all.
